Update Rollup 5 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (KB953467), Part 1/3

Update Rollup 5 for Exchange Server 2008 SP1 is now available! It has alot of fixes described below and I would like to attempt to share my gotchas and how-to’s on this update. I’m hoping to make this a three part series and as you may notice, the third one is our "Oppps!" moment, where we have encountered problems on the CAS and Outlook Web Access. I have searched the internet and I found very few that has this problems (hope: plus solutions) after installing the RU5.

Part 1: What is Update Rollup 5? What does it is for?

Part 2. How to install Update Rollup 5?

Part 3. Oppps and OMG! (Troubleshooting after a problematic rollup install)

It can now be downloaded thru the Microsoft Download Center or directly on Windows Update!

This is a highly recommended update for all that are using Exchange Server 2007 SP1 and Quoting the Microsoft Update Site http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=652ED33A-11A1-459C-8FFE-90B9CBFE7903&displaylang=en:

"Update Rollup 5 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) resolves issues that were found in Exchange Server 2007 SP1 since the software was released."

This is a bulk update that includes and replaces these Roll-ups (rollup 1-4) : KB945684 KB948016 KB949870 and KB952580
