Philippine Windows 7 House Party!

Philippine Windows 7 House Party hosted by Jojo Ayson and Chay Saputil with the participation of the Philippine Windows Users Group held at Microsoft Philippines on October 22, 2009. In celebration of the worldwide launch of Windows 7. Another day to remember that more than 200 people, most of them coming from PHIWUG came last October 22, 2009 at Microsoft’s head office at Ayala Makati.

Members of PHIWUG showed off some Windows7 demo on Security, User Experience, Virtualization, Windows Games, Live and many others. One highlight of the event is a demo by Chris Misola, also from PHIWUG. Chris did it again, his very awesome do-it-yourself-multi-touch device, which many could quote one of the coolest thing you may see in a demo.

Isamu Shinozaki  did some tips and tricks as a warm-up of demo’s. Jay-R Barrios doing the XP Mode and Elczar Adame featuring IIS7. John Delizo (me) also did some demo on user experience and Adrian Rodriguez on Photo and some Live essentials.

Chris Misola (x-mint of MSFORUMS.PH) now doing his magic on Windows 7 Multi touch!

John Bessey, Microsoft’s Philippines new managing director was also present in the event.

Microsoft Security Essentials x64 installer

I tried MSE (Morro) while it was on beta and it served me well. But now its time to re-install on a x64 bit laptop and upon checking the link on the Microsoft Protect Site, its only 32 bit 😦 (Oh I’m in the Philippines and my region is not allowed to view the Microsoft Essentials Page)

After much searching I found myself back to the Microsoft Answers site: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/msestart/thread/3698ef79-2c52-434a-ab46-2d6197ee2e8a well there is a x64 installer for MSE! Download it here: mssefullinstall-amd64fre-en-us-vista-win7.exe

I saw a number of blogs post for MSE with screenshots and reviews, I don’t think I can say more or better myself so I’m leaving the reviews for them. For now I will just enjoy my copy of MSE. Cheers!
